Race Categories

Individuals...must complete all portions of the race alone. May use the support of two people. May not receive aid on the course. Support crews must wear support bib (keep one person in town for the bike/run exchange)

Individuals Elite Wave...will be the first wave on race day. Participants will NOT BE ELIGIBLE to win their age group. The Elite Wave is the only category eligible for cash prizes. 

Pairs (two person teams)...are one male and one female, two males, two females, or tandem pairs. Tandem Pairs may use tandem bikes and/or a two person kayak or canoe. Pairs will be issued a pass to drive down Century Drive.

Teams...consist of a minimum of three to a maximum of seven members (one for each of the six legs, with two in a canoe or one in a kayak). No two person kayaks are allowed in this division. If you do have a two person kayak, you need to register in the Open Team or Family Category. 

Coed Teams...must include at least one female or one male. 

Business and Service Club Teams...All members of a business team must be employed by that business and must appear on the regular payroll account. No age or gender divisions. No two person kayaks are allowed in this division. If you do have a two person kayak, you need to register in the Open Team Category. 

High School Teams...Each team member must be from the same high school. More than one team is allowed from a school. No age or gender divisions. No two person kayaks are allowed in this division. If you do have a two person kayak, you need to register in the Open Team Category. 

Municipal Teams...must work for the city, county or state departments. No age or gender divisions. No two person kayaks are allowed in this division. If you do have a two person kayak, you need to register in the Open Team or Family Category. 

Family Teams...All members must belong to the same family. The family team will receive a score based on the number of family team members plus age span divided by team race time. Team with the highest score will win the Terry Bonynage Award.  You can use a two person kayak. 

Open Teams...No age or gender divisions. Tandem bikes and/or two person kayaks/canoes are allowed.

Adaptive Teams...consist of a combination of persons with or without a disability. At least 3 legs must be completed by persons with a disability (can include canoe leg if one person with a disability is part of a two person team). No age or gender divisions.

Do not go to Mt. Bachelor without your bib numbers or lift tickets on race day. 

Lost and Found

Roads
The road going UP to Mt. Bachelor is never closed. The road coming DOWN from Mt. Bachelor is detoured through Sunriver during the race (except for the pairs division). 

Tips for Pairs
You will receive a Pairs Pass credential in your race packet that will allow you to drive down Century Drive and not be re-routed through Sunriver. The transition zone for the Bike to Run is in the Athletic Club of Bend parking lot. 

You cannot use a two person kayak unless you have registered as a Tandem pair. 

Tips for Individuals
Only individual competitors may have a support crew. Individual support crews are not allowed to drive down the mountain (so keep one crew member in town and one at the mountain).

Individuals need to have at least 2 support people
One person for up at the mountain and one for in town. The support person on the mountain will have to drive the Sunriver detour.
