New This Year

Mountain Bike Option...We are limiting this to 100 teams.  First come first serve.  No age division, but we will have a female team male team and coed team division.  These teams will go last since they are not nordic skiing and will have seperate race bibs from other PPP racers doing the traditional race.  Individuals and Pairs cannot do this division.  It's for teams of 3+.  Here's how it will work:  At 11:25, the person on your team, will do the Alpine Ski portion (can use Snowboard if they prefer).  Once they are down the hill, they will be directed by our volunteers to the bike exchange (this will be different than the bike exchnage by the Nordic Center).  Then they or a teammate can jump on their road or mountain bike and head down Century Dr.  Once they reach the Wanoga Sno Park, they will be directed to the east end of Wanoga (by the sledding hill).  Then they can either hop off their road bike, rack it and grab their mountain bike or continue on their mountain bike down the Funner Trail to Storm King to Conklin Road to Century Drive to the Athletic Club of Bend.  Run, Paddle and Sprint.  This trail system is rocky and a little technical.  There is no shame in dismounting and walking around the un-ridable sections.  It's mostly all downhill.  We created this option for people that might not have wanted to race because they don't access to Nordic skiing where they live.

Individuals...must complete all portions of the race alone. May use the support of two people. May not receive aid on the course. Support crews must wear support bib (keep one person in town for the bike/run exchange)

Individuals Elite Wave...will be the first wave on race day. Participants will NOT BE ELIGIBLE to win their age group. The Elite Wave is the only category eligible for cash prizes.

Pairs (two person teams)...are one male and one female, two males, two females, or tandem pairs. Tandem Pairs may use tandem bikes and/or a two person kayak or canoe. Pairs will be issued a pass to drive down Century Drive.

Teams...consist of a minimum of three to a maximum of seven members (one for each of the six legs, with two in a canoe or one in a kayak). No two person kayaks are allowed in this division. If you do have a two person kayak, you need to register in the Open Team or Family Category.

Coed Teams...must include at least one female or one male.

Business and Service Club Teams...All members of a business team must be employed by that business and must appear on the regular payroll account. No age or gender divisions. No two person kayaks are allowed in this division. If you do have a two person kayak, you need to register in the Open Team Category.

High School Teams...Each team member must be from the same high school. More than one team is allowed from a school. No age or gender divisions. No two person kayaks are allowed in this division. If you do have a two person kayak, you need to register in the Open Team Category.
